There are many people that make up the community at the DJD Dance Centre. From artists, administrators, volunteers and beyond, these walls are pulsing with personality.

1. WHEN DID YOU START DANCING?
I started dancing at age 5 after seeing the original Fantasia movie and telling my parents that that was what I wanted to do.

2. DID YOU ALWAYS KNOW THAT DANCE WAS GOING TO BE A BIG PART OF YOUR LIFE?
Yes, it has been at my core since the very beginning.

3. WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST INFLUENTIAL EXPERIENCE IN YOUR CAREER?
Too many to put down. There is never one influence because dance and the arts is such a dynamic career.But, I vividly remember the performances I did at an early age and feeling the emotional response from the audience. I remember the first time Vicki Adams-Willis taught me at Lindsay Walsh School of Dance and blew my mind at her musicality and utter commitment to jazz. And the first time I took class at my college in England and releasing that this cow-town girl had a lot to learn… and wanting too. Dancing with jazz musicians, on stage, connecting in new ways every night.

4. WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR ROLE MODELS?
Vicki Adams-Willis, Hannah Stillwell and Michele Moss for investing in an art form that seemed to be fading away and planting the seeds of passion in the dancers they came in contact with. I am always inspired by artists who have PASSION about whatever has touched their soul.

5. WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF ASPIRING DANCERS?
Get in it! Steps and technique will always be there to learn but if you cannot embrace the spirit and the groove of your chosen style, you will always be left wanting more. Life is short and dance is a gift…ENJOY!
