From our 1984 debut- Body and Sole, to last season’s Party Time, DJD has created over 70 concerts. To fully celebrate our 40th anniversary, we will bring you a spectacular retrospective of some of our vast repertoire accompanied by a live band led by DJD longtime collaborator, Kristian Alexandrov.

Lordy Lordy WE are 40!
Since our humble beginnings in 1984 we have had quite a time. 4 decades, 3 homes, over 100 dancers, countless collaborators, over 70 original performances… We are thrilled to celebrate our 40th season with you!
We are currently working hard on a new piece entitled Call and Response that will be presented January 16-26th. featuring the Falling Bullets Jazz Band from New Orleans. I heard Marla Dixon sing and play trumpet last spring at The Spotted Cat Club in New Orleans and couldn’t stop thinking about her sound. I called her up and after a little convincing, she agreed to pull together some of her favourite musicians and come work with us….

The DJD Dance Centre parkade offers FREE underground parking Monday to Friday after 5PM and on Saturdays and Sundays. The parkade is free to valid ticket holders and students. Please note a code is needed to enter the parkade. (you will receive a code for the parkade 24 hours before the performance you are attending or with your class purchase). You can access the DJD parkade off Centre Street (at the back of the Kahanoff Centre). Walk offs are not permitted, your car can only remain in the DJD parking lot while you are at the DJD Dance Centre.
Please note: There is a 6 foot maximum height restriction for our underground parking.
Additional parking
Two large paid-public parking lots are located at the South and East sides of the building. Two-hour meter street parking is available on Center Street SE, between 12 and 13 Avenue SE. Two disabled parking spaces are available on the south side of the building.
