Tasha Lawson, Artistic director of Tri-Tone Rhythm productions, is excited to announce Annual Rhythm, Body and Soul Tap Festival with a world class faculty Including Tap Legend, Dianne Walker (Boston), Jessie Sawyers (Seattle), Lisa LaTouche ( NYC/ Calgary) Tasha Lawson (Calgary). Alberta based Jazz virtuoso’s, Kristian Alexandrov (Piano), Jeremy Coates (Bass) Tyler Hornby (Drums), join the stellar international faculty for an unforgettable weekend of rhythm and music!
The festival offers world class education and performance opportunities to tap dance students and rhythm enthusiasts through Master classes, courses, student showcase panel discussion, and a Live music and Tap Event to close the weekend.
The focus is to advance and celebrate rhythm tap and the percussive arts, to develop a vibrant, inspired, and creative tap dance community in Calgary, to create a platform for for the creation and presentation of new tap work, and to connect the Calgary tap and music communities by facilitating national and international relationships.
Parking at DJD
The DJD Dance Centre parkade offers FREE underground parking Monday to Friday after 5PM and on Saturdays and Sundays. The parkade is free to valid ticket holders and students. Please note a code is needed to enter the parkade. (you will receive a code for the parkade 24 hours before the performance you are attending or with your class purchase). You can access the DJD parkade off Centre Street (at the back of the Kahanoff Centre).
Please note: There is a 6 foot maximum height restriction for our underground parking.
Additional parking
Two large paid-public parking lots are located at the South and East sides of the building. Two-hour meter street parking is available on Center Street SE, between 12 and 13 Avenue SE. Two disabled parking spaces are available on the south side of the building.
