Footprints is the annual year-end performance of DJD’s Professional Training Program.  Audiences will enjoy one hour of high-energy dancing  that features fast footwork, musicality, and much more! The performance features choreography by faculty members Ingrid Díaz Céspedes (Dance School Principal & Professional Training Program Director) & Jamie Freeman Cormack (Founding Professional Training Program Director), repertoire from DJD company productions Body and Sole (1984), Rockin’ in Rhythm (1985), Root 7 (2006) and Turn Up The Get Down (2013) and guest choreography by DJD Professional Company dancers Thys Armstrong, Scott Augustine & Kaja Irwin.

 About DJD’s Professional Train Program:

DJD’s Professional Training Program (PTP) is a 32-week intensive program that offers a small group of mature dancers a concentrated jazz training experience that focuses on individual development. The program attracts dancers from across Canada and beyond who wish to experience the unique jazz expertise available at DJD. The 10 to 15 dancers accepted each year participate in 17 hours per week of training as well as rehearsals for performances. Their studies include various jazz techniques and styles, jazz improvisation, jazz history, tap, ballet, core, west african, afro-cuban and DJD Repertoire.

DJD DANCE CENTRE

Parking at DJD

The DJD Dance Centre parkade offers FREE underground parking Monday to Friday after 5PM and on Saturdays and Sundays. The parkade is free to valid ticket holders and students. Please note a code is needed to enter the parkade. (you will receive a code for the parkade 24 hours before the performance you are attending or with your class purchase). You can access the DJD parkade off Centre Street (at the back of the Kahanoff Centre).

Please note:  There is a 6 foot maximum height restriction for our underground parking.

Additional parking

Two large paid-public parking lots are located at the South and East sides of the building. Two-hour meter street parking is available on Center Street SE, between 12 and 13 Avenue SE. Two disabled parking spaces are available on the south side of the building.
