Flamenco at the DJD Dance Centre: A collaboration between Claire Marchand, Jane Ogilvie and Rosanna Terracciano
Following a sold-out 2025 tour, flamenco dancers Claire Marchand, Jane Ogilvie, and Rosanna Terracciano take to the stage with returning special guests – Spanish flamenco singer and percussionist Francisco Orozco “Yiyi” and Vancouver flamenco guitarist Peter Mole – for an intimate evening of flamenco dance, guitar, piano, and song.
These three dancers have explored their own creative trajectories since meeting years ago as emerging dancers. Now, as established artists, each has played an integral role in establishing a flamenco presence in Western Canada. Their paths have crossed as artists, colleagues, and friends in many ways over the years. In 2023, they formally created a project where they would have the chance to collaborate. Now, in 2026, they take a new show on the road again to their hometowns of Edmonton, Calgary, and Winnipeg.
Experience the mesmerizing interaction of soulful singing, intricate guitar, percussive footwork and expressive dance of the flamenco “tablao”, with the special addition of flamenco piano. Expect the magical intensity, improvisation and inspiration that can only be felt in the live encounter of flamenco artists.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Francisco Orozco “Yiyi” (Song/Percussion) is from an Andalusian family. Born in Barcelona, he was introduced to flamenco rhythms at the tender age of four and was trained by his father, flamenco singer “Joselón de Jerez”. He began his professional career at the age of twelve and performs internationally.
Claire Marchand (Dance), known for her theatrical, singular style, has performed across Canada and internationally.
Peter Mole’s (Guitar) raw yet lyrical guitar style comes alive when accompanying dance. He recently released his debut album “La Luna y el Viento.”
Jane Ogilvie (Dance, Piano) is a 2023 recipient of the Edmonton Artist’s Trust Fund Award for dance and a lifelong pianist.
Rosanna Terracciano (Dance), winner of the Jacqueline Lemieux Prize, has been presented throughout Canada and Europe, including at the Bienal de Flamenco (Seville).
