Wordfest’s Imaginairium – Celebrating Calgary: Laureate-A-Rama

Starring Derek Beaulieu, Wakefield Brewster, Kris Demeanor, Micheline Maylor, Natalie Meisner & Sheri-D Wilson

At the DJD Dance Centre

We wouldn’t have it any other way: the Closing Night Showcase of Wordfest’s 27th annual fall festival is a celebration of YYC’s most vocal arts ambassadors, our Poet Laureates. Launched in 2012, and supported by the Calgary Foundation and the Calgary Public Library, the program has placed the literary laurel crown (or should that be the black beret?) on Kris Demeanor, derek beaulieu, Micheline Maylor, Sheri-D Wilson, Natalie Meisner, and, for the current two-year term, Wakefield Brewster. Join us for the first time that all six exceptional poets will perform on the same stage.

And who else could host this 90-minute showcase of Calgaricity than Naheed Nenshi? Let’s get loud. Let’s get proud. Let’s come alive! Includes post-show book signing.

This event is part of Wordfest’s Imaginairium festival, Sept. 29 – Oct. 6, 2022. Connect with 60+ of the world’s most generous writers, thinkers, activators and inspirers, gathered just for you in Calgary, Canada. For more info: wordfest.com
