Launched in 2013 as a pilot project, Dancing Parkinson’s YYC provides dance classes to people with Parkinson disease, and their spouses/ friends/ care partners. It is based on the simple belief that DANCING IS GOOD FOR US. With live musical accompaniment and a focus on rhythm, body awareness, muscle development, coordination and socializing, the weekly classes have proven to be an uplifting and restorative experience for participants.
Classes are held on Tuesdays with two levels to choose from:
Tuesdays 12:45 – 1:45 pm – Group 1
For continuing students of the program who wish to build their skills at a slightly faster pace, and for new students with prior dance experience.
Tuesdays 2:00 – 3:00 pm – Group 2
A gentle introduction to dance for new students and for those wishing to move at a slower pace.
Classes are held at the DJD Dance Centre
111 12th Ave SE T2G 0Z9
Unlimited classes are available with a $50 annual registration fee per person.
