Immerse yourself in the DJD aesthetic that is based in a rooted jazz philosophy that honours the rich history of the form; one that is grounded in its movement choices, borrows from an Africanist aesthetic, prioritizes rich rhythmic play and an authentic response to the music, allows for the influences from codified jazz techniques, and continues to innovate while carving a path into the future.
Lead by Joanne Baker, Kimberley Cooper, Jamie Freeman Cormack, Sarisa Figueroa de Toledo, Laura Kleiner and other special guests, these classes will foster the development of your knowledge, skills and artistry by cultivating a solid understanding of the history of jazz dance and music and building a high standard of jazz technique that emphasizes stylistic and vernacular nuance
FALL SESSION – Classes will be offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30am – 11:00am from September 15-Dec 3, 2026
WINTER SESSION – Class schedule will be released in late November 2026
These training classes are for dance teachers, pre-professional and professional level dancers.

Class Passes
- Valid for Morning Jazz Training classes in the 2026/2027 season. An active membership in required to purchase this pass.
- Valid for unlimited Morning Jazz Training classes until December 3, 2026. An active membership in required to purchase this pass. Purchasers of this pass have the option to add on an unlimited pass for evening classes for $225, email djd@decidedlyjazz.com to purchase.
