wowandflutter

January 31 - February 10, 2008
The GRAND
For tickets call: 245-3533

A new show set to the intense, compelling, polyrhythmic music of Amon Tobin under the artistic direction of Kimberley Cooper. Wow and Flutter will take the audience on a epic ride of whimsy, humor, darkness, strange characters, video games, sci-fi, fish tanks, and wild landscapes. A weirdly wonderous escape from mid-winter blues.

"Choreographed and conceived by DJD artistic associate Kimberley Cooper, Wow and Flutter — which opened on Thursday at the Grand — is a wild and wonderful conjunction of soundtrack wizardry, a little video magic, and a neverending kaleidoscope of movement that is fresh, imaginative, and never dull.
The show is a knockout." - Bob Clark, The Calgary Herald

Distemper was based on a piece that was in DJD's dance performance of Velvet in 2003.  Although the stage version will not be seen in wowandflutter, it is an example of Cooper’s work set to Tobin’s music
