FINANCIAL AID

We want everyone in the community to experience the joy of dance.

Creativity, Community, and Equity are key values at DJD

We want our programs to be accessible to as many people as possible. To decrease financial barriers, we have a number of programs to enable children to participate in dance classes and dance camps, as well as opportunities for adults to volunteer in exchange for dance classes for their children or themselves. We also offer free or discounted performance tickets for those who cannot afford full-priced tickets.

For more information or to apply to the Children’s Bursary or Contra Program, please contact Chantal Snodgrass, Venue Services Manager & Volunteer Coordinator.

Children’s Bursary Program

Children ages 2 -17 from families in need are eligible to receive assistance to attend a summer camp or class during the fall, winter or spring session. DJD works with several social agencies, Calgary schools, and other organizations to identify children who would benefit. A limited number of bursaries are available and are distributed based on need on a first-come, first-served basis. This program is made possible thanks to the generosity of the Harry & Martha Cohen Foundation and other individual donors.

Contra Program

The Contra Student Program allows students to exchange volunteer hours for reduced tuition fees for classes. Students commit to working DJD events and fundraising campaigns to earn hours towards a class where you can spend your time dancing to your heart’s delight. All Contra students must be 18 years of age, although a parent or guardian can work events in exchange for their child’s class.

THANK YOU TO OUR SUPPORTERS
