| Decidedly Jazz Danceworks is deeply committed to sharing our love of jazz music and dance with schools and providing top quality instruction in a fun and energetic atmosphere. Dance feeds the soul, nourishes the heart, and puts groove in every step, especially when it’s jazz dance.
Because DJD is one of a mere handful of professional jazz dance companies worldwide, education and outreach are an integral part of our mission and activity. We performed our first program for Elementary school children in 1985 and have been delivering master classes, residencies and special performances ever since. Students can experience dance with DJD through:
School Touring Show – learn about the history of jazz through a child-oriented touring show
Artists in Residence - bring DJD to your school for students to experience a 3 or 5 day residency.
Student Dress Rehearsals – look “behind the curtains” while enjoying the spectacle of a fully developed DJD Company show.
Workshops & Master Classes – discover jazz through for a one-day interactive workshop at DJD’s studios or in your studio.
